Meet Lucy from Kansas. Lucy is 14 years old and has Down syndrome. Only families from Kansas are being considered to maintain her close sibling relationships. Placement fees are waived since this is an adoption from foster care.
Meet Lucy!
Lucy has an amazing sense of humor and has one of the most infectious laughs one could hear; it's hard to not join in on the fun. When not laughing she enjoys coloring, looking at books, bowling, swimming, and giving "performances" with her guitars. She loves to mimic her older sister and will try to do anything she does like dribbling, yoga, or dancing around. She also doesn't mind just sitting around and enjoying some good television; she loves to watch some NCIS (Gibbs is her favorite).
Lucy would benefit most from having a dedicated, life-long family who is willing to educate themselves on her needs and in Lucy's preferred method of communication, American Sign Language (ASL). Someone who will ensure she maintains all of her important connections, and takes the active steps to do so, will also be extremely important.
Placement fees are waived since this is an adoption from foster care.
In order to be considered for Lucy, you must have a domestic home study that is signed and updated and you are immediately available to adopt.
