Meet Marcus

Meet Marcus

Meet Marcus! He is 13 years old and has Down syndrome. Marcus lives in Michigan, but his forever-home can be with a family from any state! Fees will be waived since Marcus will be adopted from foster care.

Meet Marcus!

Being one with nature suits Marcus just fine. He prefers outdoors over indoors, and he likes rollicking in the grass, looking at leaves on the lawn or in the trees and engaging in everything about his natural environment. Want to engage Marcus even more in the natural world? Suggest going for a walk, only let Marcus lead to see what happens next. When you encounter others on the trek, they’ll naturally gravitate toward Marcus’ irresistible personality. “There is something that draws people to Marcus,” says one of his close adults.

When he is confined to the indoors by time of day or inclement weather, Marcus enjoys playing on his tablet. He also enjoys playing with CoComelon and PJ mask toys. As stated, those who see Marcus and meet him are drawn to him, even the ones who used to be very close to him return to visit Marcus regularly. As one of Marcus’ close adults puts it, “To know him is to love him.” In short, he’s a fun young man to have around the house!

“Marcus truly has a radiant smile and when he smiles at you, it will brighten your day,” says one of his close adults. “Marcus has an innocent, carefree zest for life that is magnetic. I cannot stress enough, that everyone who meets Marcus falls in love with him!”

Marcus will require a caregiver’s careful monitoring and supervision. He will need a forever family who’s dedicated to him now and into adulthood. Marcus’ new parent or parents must make sure he receives the support services his needs to function at his best. He would do best as the only or youngest child so he gets the attention and supervision he needs, but he can do well with other children, too. His new family must be open to letting Marcus maintain his sibling relationship.

If you are interested in Marcus and you are on the NDSAN registry, please email Stephanie and she will send your home study and family profile to his worker.

If you have a home study, but you are NOT on the NDSAN registry, you can go here to learn more about Marcus and submit an inquiry.

If you do not have a home study, please know that Marcus may be placed by the time your home study is completed, and getting a home study will not guarantee Marcus's placement with your family. If you are interested in the adoption process, please start here.
