Meet Rowdy from Missouri! Rowdy is 13 years old and has Down syndrome. Families from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma are only being considered at this time, to keep Rowdy close to important people in his life. Placement fees are waived since this is an adoption from foster care.
Rowdy is a kindhearted and helpful boy who enjoys family game nights and loves being read to. His favorite afternoons are spent playing with LEGOs and Hot Wheels or in the water, although he prefers not to get drenched. Rowdy thinks that Superman is the greatest superhero and wishes he could have his superhuman strength. This teen loves a dinner of chicken nuggets followed by ice cream or homemade cinnamon rolls for dessert.
His favorite animals are dogs and snakes, and he finds green the coolest color in the rainbow. When asked, he says his greatest talent is patience and singing 90s pop music! Rowdy loves learning new things and wants to work on a farm and help others when he’s older.
This seventh grader’s favorite subject is recess.
Rowdy's communication style is primarily non-speaking, so to successfully communicate with Rowdy, families must be willing to learn sign language or other forms of communication to accommodate his needs. Rowdy LOVES to communicate, and with a little patience and learning, it becomes clear what Rowdy is trying to convey.
Rowdy would do best in a home with a mom and dad. A family with pets in a rural area is preferred; however, all family types will be considered. Rowdy has significant connections to maintain following placement. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services.
Rowdy wants to stay connected to important people in his life; only families from Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma are being considered at this time.
Attention Missouri families...home studied and non-home studied families can inquire about Rowdy. For families AR, KS, and OK, you must have a completed home study.
Placement fees are waived since this is an adoption from foster care.
